A thermographic survey pinpoints abnormally hot electrical components using an infrared camera. The infrared camera provides a non-contact, non-destructive temperature measurement and high-resolution image quality on energized equipment with load. Thermal anomalies identified by the survey can be caused by factors such as overloaded equipment and loose connections.
PMC’s experienced engineers will perform onsite IR scanning and compile a report clarifying the thermograms. IR scanning reports provide an analysis of the findings along with recommendations for addressing anomalies.
Some of the benefits of IR scanning include:
- Detecting problems without shutting down equipment
- Reduce power outages
- Assess old equipment for faults
- Diagnosing problems quickly and safely
